2. Vocabulary for Success - Students will use their devices (BYOD) as well as the information on pages 4-5 to complete page 7 in the Vocabulary for Success workbook. As a class, students will review and correct answers on page 7.
3. Big Mouth & Ugly Girl - Students will take a multiple choice quiz on the homework reading pages 122 - 169. When finished, students will turn in papers and either finish their SOL Writing Pretest prompt or begin reading pages 170 - 209 of Big Mouth and Ugly Girl.
4. SOL Writing Pretest - Given a persuasive writing prompt, students will finish constructing a multi-paragraph essay to show their ability at the beginning of 9th grade. Students will follow MLA format for proper heading, spacing, and printing.
Homework: By Wednesday, read pages 170 - 209 of Big Mouth & Ugly Girl.

4. Reading Reaction Responses & Creative Project Options - Students will review requirements of project and ask questions. Students will use the remainder of the block to continue working on what they started on Friday.

5. Library BookTalk - Students will go to the library to meet with one of our Library Media Specialists, Mrs. Antis, for a Realistic Fiction BookTalk. Afterward, students will choose a work of realistic fiction as an independent assignment.
